The Archivist Behind this Ledger
My name is Tim Breitberg. I've spent over two decades managing complex retail operations, navigating tech infrastructure, and anchoring community spaces in Evanston, Illinois. I brought those operational skills into the cannabis arena around 2022 when I stepped up to assist Second City Genetics (SCG) with WordPress and WooCommerce infrastructure in order for the site to stay compliant with high-risk payment processor demands.
Industry hurdles and systemic roadblocks eventually caused that storefront to wind down. I subsequently inherited the domain and the option of reviving the project. Maintaining that backend domain infrastructure proved to be a critical first-hand lesson in digital continuity. Keeping the domain active was the singular path to protecting the secure email gateway required for the original owner to access his credentials, receive secure reset codes, and successfully recover the business's trapped funds from processors like Waave. This experience exposed the profound backend vulnerabilities plaguing industry operators—an operational perspective I carried with me when I expanded into commercial wholesale distribution as a wholesale rep with Tiger-One in 2024.
Alongside my professional management background, I have been actively involved in the grassroots seed-collecting and specialized genetics communities since 2019. If you run in those circles on Overgrow or niche breeding Discords, you likely know me under my handles: eft, eft37, or clovis.
Entering this space in 2019 meant jumping straight into the deep end of digital instability. I watched verified accounts vanish overnight, witnessed the rise of sophisticated scammers filling the voids left by automated bans, and saw how difficult it became for passionate collectors and legacy breeders to maintain a reliable line of communication. I would log into Instagram to catch up on a breeder’s message that seeds would be ready in “a few weeks”, only to see my side of the conversation, theirs completely gone due to their sudden account removal.
